FILTERDOT® has become an effective, low cost way to protect virtually any engine against damage due to metal particles. The FILTERDOT® traps ferrous metal particles that a standard full-flow filter is unable to catch. Through a process known as "hetero-coagulation", the FILTERDOT® also captures many of the non-ferrous particles as well.
Full flow oil filters generally will trap particles in the 10 to 25 microns range. Anything larger than this is allowed to flow through the filter and return to your engine causing galling and scratching. The FILTERDOT® is able to trap these extremely small particles down to the sub-micron (.5 microns) size through a magnetic field that is directed to inside the filter. This magnetic field then catches and holds ferrous metal particles against the oil filter housing. When the filter is changed, the FILTERDOT® is removed and transferred to the new oil filter while the old filter is discarded with the trapped ferrous metal particles inside of it.

One of the clear advantages of using this technology is a cleaner more efficient engine without any pressure drop through the oil filter. FILTERDOT® was designed with the concept of one size that fits all canister type filters. Therefore, it is easily available and transferable to fit most vehicles, trucks, SUV's, boats and industrial equipment.
FILTERDOT®'s construction is made from a high-temperature ND "Rare Earth" magnet that is made from an element which is known as the world's strongest permanent magnet. Rated at 100 pounds of lifting force, it is 10-50 times stronger than ordinary ceramic magnets and the special heat treatment process won't let it lose the magnetic force when exposed to the high temperature of the engine. The FILTERDOT® magnet is enclosed in a compact, full metal jacket construction for durability. |

In this picture you can see the fairly clean inside bottom of the oil filter before FILTERDOT® is attached. The fine metal particles that are too small to be trapped by the oil filter continue to be suspended in the motor oil and flow through the engine. |

The black material in this picture are the fine metal particles that have been pulled out of the oil and trapped against the bottom of the oil filter by the strong magnetic pull of the FILTERDOT®. Backside of the FILTERDOT'S®
Here you can see the backside of the different FILTERDOT® magnets. They are the same physical outside dimensions but the magnet inside the metal casing that is sealed in with epoxy vary in size and power depending upon the application.
